Why participate in the TSA Elite Heifer Sale?
The Texas Shorthorn Association Elite Heifer Sale is a great way to market
livestock to the future of the Shorthorn breed by supporting youth exhibitors.
The heifers that sell are eligible to earn cash prizes for their cattle that show at
the Texas Shorthorn Association Elite Heifer Show during the TJSA Preview
Show and will get special recognition through the TSA. The TSA will work hard
to promote these cattle through all their outlets, including the TSA Newsletter,
social media, and email blasts. Our mission is to allow exhibitors to be
involved in purchasing high quality females from quality breeders in the Texas
Shorthorn Association and become involved in the one of the foundation cattle
breeds established in the US.

TSA Elite Heifer Sale & Show Steps
For Breeders:
- Step 1: Nominated your heifer(s) and pay nomination fees. Nomination form
will be available in a Google Form. - Step 2: Make sure your TSA dues are paid. If not they will need to be.
- Step 3: Meet at designated location and pay for professional pictures and
videos (we have locations in College Station, Ennis & Lubbock areas set up in
late February). Send in any pictures/ads/heifer information about heifer(s) that
you are nominating, so the TSA can get it out to TJSA members and parents &
SC Online bidding platform. - Step 4: The exhibitor who purchased the heifer(s) wants to participate in the
TSA Elite Heifer Show. Breeder must facilitate delivery of the heifer and timely
paper transfer prior to the May 1st entry deadline to enter the TSA Elite Heifer
Show and TJSA State Preview Show.
For Exhibitors:
- Step 1: Purchase a TSA Elite Heifer Show eligible female.
Step 2: Make sure your TJSA dues are paid. If not they will need to be. If you
live out of state, you must also pay your fees but you are only eligible to
participate in the TSA Elite Heifer Show at the state preview show.
Step 3: Fill out the ‘Exhibitor TSA Elite Heifer Show Form’ and mail it by the
posted deadline – all entry forms will be posted on the TSA & TJSA websites
